Regarding Heart disease

Hi,   I suffer from SLE for past 14 years and now i got hyperthyroid but i feel my heart palpitates very high and i can feel the palpitation , when consulted with doctors they told this may be due to thickining of the heart walls.   Wiill i later get heart enlargement problems? please advice.
