Can a person ever go off of a high blood pressure medication?

Hello, My doctor just put me on Benicar 20mg.  I hope to be able to loose about 10-15lbs. through diet & exercise.  My blood pressure has been averaged around 150/90.  All that I have read said that losing weight will bring it down.  If that is the case, is it possible to stop taking medication and see if the weight loss... Read moreChevron

hypertension

My b/p in L arm was 142/96, simultaneously it was 180/100 in R arm. Does the differnce in these readings have any significant meaning?
