Hi srathore:

Would you mind clarifying and resubmitting your quesiton? I am a little unclear exactly what your question and situation is. I could then maybe give you a better answer.

I recommend you visiting with your doctor with concerns of your echocardiogram results, he would be also familiar with your heatlh history.

Texas Heart Institute defines hypokinesia: "It stands for decreased motion of the heart wall as the heart pumps. This could be of a minor to severe degree, and of variable size or extension. It is generally due to lack of blood supply to that area of the heart."

Take care,

Tara

Hi Tara: thanks for my concern & interest. I am 58 yrs female ,having R.B.B.B. congenitally. In 2000 I developed complete heart block so put on P.P.I.(vddr) . Since last one yr I developed breathlessness & giddiness so during routine check up in pace maker clinic I was advised routine investigations that revealed HB-12.5%,HBA1C-6.7%,lipid profile normal,TSH-5.7uiu/ml.EKG normal, ECHO-valve normal,REGIONAL MOTION WALL MOBILITY-GLOBAL HYPOKINESIA. L.V.FUNCTION 32%redused

Cardiologist  thinks hypokinesia may be due to pace maker. Doctor advised digoxin & other drugs to enforce ventricle.

My cocern is , can pace maker cause global hypokinesia?

What percentage are such cases& what is prognosis of such cases.?

I hope  this will be suffice to put my concern. I will well come further querry.

Hi srathore:

I apologize for taking a while to get back with you. I encourage you to visit further with your cardiologist in regards to these questions. I am not familiar enough with causes of global hypokinesia to answer your questions appropriately. Your doctor should be able to answer your questions. I would also recommend if you felt necessary to go ahead and seek a second opinion to make sure you have all the information you need to make a decision.

Hope this helps you out,

Take care,

Tara
