Hi Dora,

I recommend consulting your doctor to detemine steps you can take to prevent the symptoms.

The average age for a first attack is 66 for men and 70 for women, but individuals in there 20's and 30's do have heart attacks, too.

All the best,

yes i most certainly would, as you are so young, unless you are incredibly out of shape and overweight, this would be a large concern. I suffered my first stroke at 45, and was shocked to know that i had suffered one. In addition, it has allowed me to be very cognicent of my life and lifestyle since. I am active, in shape eat well, and still worry about this. I realize there is not alot i can do to prevent it, but what i can do, i will.

helo dora,

I am 26yr old, i neither smoke or drink alcohol but i have been diagnosed that i had a heart attack very recently. I had severe discomfort in chest & severe left arm pain. All my routine tests were normal which includes Echocardiogram & EKG. But by blood tests for troponin had been positive-by which i have been diagnosed i had heartattack. It is idiopathic. I had an angiogram which showed vasospasm of coronary artery (infact generalised vasospasm). I am now on life time medication inorder to prevent any massive heartattacks. I do not want to scare you,but you should see the doctor immediately when you have a chest pain (call 911 next time).

with regards,

your wellwisher.
