  Maureen,   Thanks for your question.  Chest pain is a complaint that physicians take very seriously and one that is difficult to diagnose without being seen.  Many questions have to be asked and answered, and you need to be examined by a health professional.    You have obvious concern and should call your doctor to make an appointment for his evaluation.  There is a good chance this is not related to your heart.  Reassurance can be the best medicine that a doctor can give his patient.    Best wishes.   Martin Cane, M.D.
