Q: what would cause my pulse rate to be so high and my BP to stay near normal?

I am a 31 years old and pregnant I have a history of PIH  pregnancy induced hypertension...I called my Dr on friday because I had had a migraine for 2 days and not able to keep anything down....my blood pressure was only slightly elevated 147/87  with a resting pulse rate of 127-146 and it would fluctuate between very high and normal...they sent me to the er and took my bp only 2 times in 4 hours...and did an ekg when my pulse rate was low..I did not understand this...I would think they would have done it when it was high to see if there is an abnormality...no one can give me any answers... yet they were concerned enough to send me to the ER...what would cause this?

Most people don't want to hear it but...anxiety. Often you think your heart rate is alot faster than what it actually is. Pregnancy does some crazy things with your hormones and it can DEFINATLY raise your heart rate. if your doctor says youre okay then trust him! Sealed If you were in trouble hed let you know.
