Q: Imdur tablet ER vs Imdur tablet SA ?

What is the difference between Imdur tablets ER vs Imdur tablets SA ?  i.e. ER vs SA designation.  Interchangeable?

Joe,

 

Thanks for your question.  Imdur ER and Imdur SA are the same drug, produced by different pharmaceutal companies.  The ER stands for Extended Release and the SA refers to Sustained Action.  They are both available as generics formulations, with the ER product produced by a company called monoket, and the SA made by Astra-Zeneca.  They are interchangeable with the same actions, properties and possible side effects.
