Hi, I also have a low EF of 30-35% caused by a heart attack a few years back. With a low EF such as ours and scar tissue from the MI, we are at risk of cardiac arrhythmias. When i had mine put in, i also questioned my need for one. I went about a year with any hint of any problems and then one day! boom, The ICD saved my life.
