Thursday, July 16, 2009 At work now asks

Q: I came in this morning with what I thought was heartburn, lots of burning under the sternum.

It kept gettingng worse, had some pain in my lower back and discomfort in my jaw(both sides, chest felt a bit tight and shortness of breath for about a minute,,,went outside for air, vomited three times, and now I just don't feel good, no other symptoms, should I be concerned.

The pain in my back is gone, still some burning under the sternum and still feel uneasy.

I am a m/h, 55, 5-11, 209, no prior history of heart issues, not on medication of any type, bp is generally 114/64, mother died of congestive heart failure at 73, no other history in family.

Hi At work now,

Definitely call you physician to discuss what you experienced and schedule an appointment to be evaluated.  Here is a link to information on the signs/symptoms of a heart attack - http://www.healthcentral.com/heart-disease/patient-guide-44510-6.html.
