Friday, March 19, 2010 Snickey asks

Q: I had HDL of 22..a week later, it the HDL of 44. I eat superfoods, also the one's mentioned.

I would like try to raise the HDL however, I can't find a doctor that will bother to read into the blood tests results of total cholesterol, I have high triglycerides usually (150 to 450), and LDL between 100 to 150.  The lower levels of HDL less than 50.  I eat same organic superfoods over and over, have normal to low blood pressure around 110 over 70, sometimes in morning it gets 96 over 67.  The total  cholesterol levels out to be around 200 to 225, which irks me, when the doctor just takes control and doesn't even understand how to read the lab results or even go over these with me.  I am suppose to know the answers and then, find a doctor for the treatment.  I really liked the specifics in the article and will be sure to include those in my daily diet, mostly I already have these except for the red wine, and the green tea.  I am wondering why not start 500 of the naicin supplement?

Thanks for answer, just got some information about a local lab that will do VAP and/or other tests to see if lower levels of HDL or smaller type of LDL has created too much skinny fat or left plac in arteries, but I still don't know if any of my healthcare primary care physicians even know or want to deal with these type tests.  Why didn't they recommend them?  Did this create unhealthy situation for me as a result of their having to follow stricter guidelines set up by greedy insurance?  I have taken hours already to get all of this compiled, will have to continue on my journey later on.
