I have a similar but different problem from most of you guys.   In august 2010 i had what they called in the emergency room as a mild heart attack and they kept me in a few days etc, got a angiogram done etc, i have always been bothered with high blood pressure since i was about 21, i am now 42.   But they didnt need to put in any stents or anything, whatever caused the problem seemed to clear its self with the drugs they pumpped into me.   anyway, i'm in the uk and we dont need to pay for our prescription drugs from the doctors, so now i am on all the usual drugs for keeping the blood pressure down, plus they have said i have angina too, so i have to carry arround a little bottle of GTN spray (i think its called) for spraying under the tounge anytime i get pain when out and about, but ive never needed to use it.   Anyhows, since about october 2010, i started noticing sore chest, back and rib pains when i awake after maybe sleeping for 4-6 hours, then i get up for a pee or whatever and when i go back to bed its nearly impossible to sleep as the pain is so awkward and sore that i cant find a comfortable position, in the end i need to end up getting up, and once ive been up for a while the pain seems to go away, but when i'm laying there with this pain it feels like i'm having a heart attack.   I have since then went back to the emergency room to get this checked again and they said nope its not a heart attack this time and say its more likley to be gastro related or something, but i take drugs to protect my stomach, and i even have my bed propped up at the head end with books, but that doesnt help.   These pains only started since the original mini heart attack and starting on the lifetime course of drugs that come along with that, so thats whats strange to me ????   I have to admit, I am a heavy duty beer drink, i drink a lot, but ive been doing that for about 25 years and never had these pains before as i said.   I like a little ciggarette from time to time i buy a pack but it doesnt seem to make it any worse or better.   I get these pains a lot, like every night/morning, or every other day, but as i said, once i'm up and about the pain goes away.   can anyone help me please ?   thanks.. Jock.
