Monday, January 10, 2011 yasin asks

Q: my mother is taking one xavor DIU, one adalat retard (20 mg), one probase 5mg, one lowplat,and one nitromint for heart/high blood pressur where as one glucophage 850 mg for diabetes. 210/110 still bp

she taking these drugs for last 2 years. 210/110 bp is for last many days. is it a very cold seasonal effect. what should i do to control her bp.

Hi Yasin,

 

I recommend contacting her physician as soon as possible. It's likely her treatment plan (including medications) need to be adjusted to better control her blood pressure. I also recommend following a diet to promote a lower blood pressure and increase the effectiveness of the medication, such as the DASH diet.
