Q: I was admitted to the hospital through ER because of chest pain. Reaction to Dobutanine question

I was admitted through the ER with chest pain. EKG was normal, but was kept over night for observation.I have asthma, so they did a medicine enduced stress test. Dobutamine was used and it was a 40mcg dose. I have had this test before with no problems. This time during the test I started experiencing chest, head and neck pain . The pain was so severe I screamed and yelled for them to stop, and was crying. I became very sick to my stomach.I was told my EKG during that time was abnormal, but my heart was fine. The cardiologist called in another Doctor to make sure that the pain was caused from the dobutamine, and not a heart problem. the pain eased but lasted for several hours later, as well as the nausea. i had to be given meds to help with that. I was told by the ER DR. That I now know what a heart attack feels like, even though I didn't have one. I was also told I could never use Dobutamine again, even though I did not have an allergic reaction. This is all very confusing to me. What caused the pain to be so severe, it was like nothing i have ever experienced before. I am home but still having trouble with the headache and my chest hurts, (feels like muscle soreness). What did my heart do during this time to cause the pain?
