What might cause an aching pain about half way between bottom of breast bone and collar bone

SLP
09/25/09

The pain came on gradually over maybe half an hour, but is reduced by stretching, breathing deep, or drinking water. I am over 60, overweight, and have controlled High Blood pressure. My cholesterol and TriGlycerides are great, but I do have a Vitamin D deficiency. I also have a family history of heart disease so I am alarmed by any chest pain whatsoever. I have regular Dr visits, and check my BP 3-4 times a week. It is well controlled.

The fact that streching or breathing makes it a feel better - at least until I stop moving - leads me to think it is digestive or skeletal, but it has occurred with back pain as well, although not all the time.
