Q: i have near my chest and pain between two collar bones mostly on left

i have some pain near my chest on left side and pain near my left collar bone with little difficult in breathing, this have started to me when i started doing excersice by lifting weights. can you please tell me what is this problem all the pains are not severe they are mild and my age is 24yrs,i dont have habit of smoking,i have regular periods,i dont even drink.

Preeti, Thanks for your question. Though most of your symptoms are not classic for heart disease, you should know that chest pain can sometimes be very difficult to diagnose. Because of your concern and your new exercise program, you should see your physician for an evaluation. After a thorough history, physicial examination, and any tests he might perform, he will be best qualified to ascertain the cause of your discomfort. If heart disease is ruled out, then you can continue your exercise program with a clear mind. Also, if not your heart, less serious etiologies like musculo - skeletal causes are possible (and perhaps caused by the exercise itself). I hope this information has been helpful. How long you been lifting....and how much weight? 3 weeks of soreness and mild pain are not uncommon....if your doing flys and bench presses and pull overs...and standing presses this could just be common.....just depends on the amount of weight........preeti.........easy to say...but it has happened to me many times.....I just had to do lighter weights or fewer reps.........build slow...alternate days
