Q: Why does fluild built up around the heart

I am having alot of fluild build up around the heart can you tell me why this is happing

Hi Gloria,

 

Pericardial effusion (excess fluid around the heart) is often due to inflammation caused by disease or injury. That being said, it can occur without inflammation, sometimes related to blood accumulation blood after surgery or an injury.

 

I recommend discussing the cause of your fluid build up with your doctor.
