Wednesday, April 30, 2008 trucker asks

Q: i drive a truck, I believe ive had a heart attck,and also I could not raise my left arm when it happ

it started with a horrible pain in upper left chest by shoulder,pain went to left wrist, veins became swollen,pain went up to vein  in left neck by collr bone,pain got worse, let up got worse again seemed like forever,I couldnt lift my left arm,had heavy feeling in center of chest,couldnt take deep breath,next day had sharp pain in my head, I dont get headaches.I am 55 yr old none smoking woman,in truck 24/7 weeks at a time,my ankles were all swollen also,i was light headed and dizzy .days preceding this I was extremely exhausted,,,also my tongue seemed to be swollen while this was happening. I havent been to a doctor yet,what can I do myself and what are the chances of another attack

Thanks for your post. I would advise you to see a doctor right away about this for an evaluatioin. Heart conditions are serious and should not be delayed.
