Q: is pain meds the first line of defense for a heart attack?

is it normal procedure if a patient complains twice of chest pain and nauusea, (the nurses noted sweaty complexion) that the nurses in charge of him administer pain and anti nauesua meds twice? this patient died btw sometime between the last meds and when the found him unresponsive 6 hours later, in a "long term recovery" hospital
