Japan-ambien for stroke patients to "awaken cells in he brain" for speech and move

I have a patient that says there is a study in Japan using ambien for stroke patients--it seems to "awaken the surrounding brain cells and cause them to start functioning and leads to  improved speech and movement"--to say I am skeptical is mild--anyone have any info on this?  Thanks Dave
