Q: my dad has to see a brain surgeon, his vascular surgeon told him he had 95% blockage of the main artery from his spine to his brain.. "would this be the middle cerebral artery?" and "what type of surg

surgery is usually preformed for this type of blockage?"

Hi edward40,

 

I'm sorry to hear about your dad.  The brain surgeon will be able to explain and show you exactly what artery the vascular surgeon is referring to and can then discuss treatment options.  Here is some information on the Blood Supply of the Brain & Spinal Cord that you may find informative.
