Can I safely have a prophylactic mastectomy and reconstruction by stopping my coumadin presurgery?

I have a PFO and recently found out that I have a BRCA2 mutation. I was scheduled for a prophylactic mastectomy, reconstruction and a BSO. Originally I was told that the breast surgeon would be able to manage my anticoagulation therapy. One week prior to surgery I was told by the same surgeon that I must have the PFO corrected. He cancelled the surgery. All of my pre-op tests were normal.

Can patients who are on coumadin therapy for a PFO safely have this type of surgery?
