Q: Pain in the heart area

I've just started having a mild chest pain around the heart area that feels like there is something stuck in there. It's constant. I've struggled with an eating disorder for 15 years now and wonder if I've damaged my heart? I've also been under alot of stress and anxiety lately. I can't tell if it's just gas or if I need to go to the doctor. Help!

Hi Jojo0120,

I'm sorry to hear of your recent issue.  You should get evaluated by your physician to determine if what you are feeling is heart related or a possible issue with swallowing/your esophagus/etc.  You may want to look at this Chest Pain Symptom Guide as well.

Best Regards,
