There area many situations in which my family and I do not have a choice about breathing in second hand smoke. Our neighbors smoke heavily and we cannot sit or work in our yard without having cigarette smoke constantly in our yard. Also, my workplace is trying to go smoke-free but it has just caused the smokers to go into hiding. Unfortunately, the hiding places seem to be closed in doorways and picnic lunch areas that are not frequented by large crowds. Or, they stand by their cars and smoke away. Unfortunately, I seem to be the unlucky one to always park next to a smoker. With all the publicity about the dangers of smoking, this really worries me. We have many friends and members of our family that "were" smokers and did quit. I know it is a hard task, but from what I experience daily, they are there, just in hiding. What are our risks as nonsmokers breathing in the second hand smoke on a daily basis?
