Taxus drug eluding stent anuerysms and treatments for them
I had a Taxus drug eluding stent implanted in February this year when I had a MI in the circumflex artery; then in March went back for stenting of the RCA where 2 stents were implanted (same kind of stent). I have been back and forth to the hospital for various reasons since--I had anaphalactic shock due to allergy to Plavix and Ticlid--am using Pletal 100mg once a day now because 2 doses of it gave me tacacardia and very high heart rate of 120-130 beats a min on the 200 dose. Have not felt great right along except for the first week after the heart attack. Have been gradually feeling worse--fatigued, dizzy, lots of chest pain, very little but some shortness of breath. Wound up back in the hospital due to the mentioned symptoms being very strong last week, Was hospitalized for 4 days--running tests. Had another catherization last Wednesday after being put on a Heparin IV drip with a booster for 36 hrs and Thalium stress test on last Thursday following the cath on Wednesday. It was found in the cath that I have at least 4 aneurysms on the stents that were implanted, but was told the blood flow to the arteries is still OK despite the aneurysms present. The stress test came back verifying there is no evidence of anything else wrong with the arteries, but I am very concerned about the aneurysms and feeling like I am walking around like a ticking time bomb if one or more of these aneurysms are to burst. What kind of info can you provide me with regarding the risks (high/low) of these aneurysms bursting and what the outcome would be of one or more bursting? It doesnt appear that the cardiologist is looking at doing anything more than "watching/monitoring" them every few months for change since my EKGs and blood tests keep coming back OK. Is it highly suggested that I seek other avenues through possibly another cardiologist/vascular surgeon regarding having these anerysms removed/repaired, bypass surgery?? I fear every minute of every day that something fatal is going to happen to me because of these things being there. If you can ease the burden of this worry any, with your expertise and what you have experienced in other patients with this condition, that would be wonderful. Every case study I have read up on involves only 1 aneurysm..and they were surgically corrected with bypass or ??coiling?? (what is that?), and here I sit with at least 4 or more. Its not a warm and fuzzy feeling for sure. Thank you for your time and expertise on this question. I look forward to the favor of your reply
