Q: Can a chemical stress tests have permanent harmful effects?

My Husband had a chemical stress test about one month ago. He experienced some difficulties at the time but the tech never called for the cardiologist. Later, the MD performed a cath, & said he should never have another stress test of any type. He had triple bypass 15 years ago; has a stent; and an ICD. Basically, he has CAD and has been told his pain is just a fact of his life. He is only 52. Since this last test his BP has been extremely low, he has been passing out and falls frequently.  He remains fatigued, is more forgetful and rather confused at times. Could these be results of the stress test? His MD  says in the future they will just go ahead and do a cath. Could the chemical stress test have made his problems worse?
