I've been on 10mg of Lipitor for one year.  As I am having memory issues, my doctor recommends I stop taking Lipitor to see if my memory improves.  Are there any withdrawal symptoms I should be concerned about?

Hi Letha,

There is potential for various withdrawal symptoms.  It's best to be monitored by your physician during your transition off the medication to discuss any symptoms that may arise.

Hi Lisa - as my doctor told me to stop taking the medication immediately rather than taper off, and told me there are no withdrawal symptoms, what possible symptoms might occur?  Doctors don't always have the time to answer all these questions, hence my posting the question here.  Many thanks for your help.

Hi Letha,

Side effects reported tend to be mild with the most common being indigestion.

All the best,
