Q: CRP levels?

I have been diagnosed with IBS and the Dr did a CRP and my results were 22.8-I had another CRP yesterday and my results were 11.5-- all the pages I see have MUCH smaller amounts than what I have- is this something that I need to be concerned about? I have already had a colonoscopy and still have IBS issues and the Dr. just tells me to take Imodium AD on the days my IBS acts up- he has said nothing about changing my diet- I am way overweigth, but no matter what I try to lose- I am always gaining-which was a concern from me- I have gained over 15 pounds since Feb 2008 when I started having stomach issues. Also- the last 3 times I have been to this Dr, I have had high BP and a slight fever??? and yet again this Dr doesnt seem too concerned

I have the same problem.  IBS and high CRP.
I have found from reading on the internet
that IBS is mainly a problem of soluble fiber
and insoluable fiber.  If I stay away from insoluble fiber, I am OK.  Don't eat cereals or
breads with bran or other insoluable ingredients.
Don't eat nuts, or popcorn, or the skin on a
baked potato or the skin on a tomato.  Stay away
from grapes, they have an insoluble skin.  Check
the internet for everything that has insoluble
fiber.  Stay with soluble fiber like oatmeal,
pasta, cornmeal, rice, white potatos (no skin)
or yams (no skin).  The skin on a pinto bean has
insoluable fiber and can be deadly.  Tremendous
gas and and explosive diarhhea.  Stay away
from chili beans.  Try to control what you eat
and check out a book called "Eating for IBS"
by Heather Van Vorous.
