why take aspirin for heart attack?
What does taking aspirin do if you are having heart pains?
Hello Karjomack
Aspirin's main purpose is to relieve pain. So it is understandable for a person in pain to take Aspirin in order to feel some relief. However a side effect of Aspirin is thinning of the blood. This thinning is supposed to help prevent clogs in the arteries and veins of the heart. Recent studdies have found that there are negative side effects to taking Aspirin regularly as a preventitive measure. So, just to be safe, I would advise consulting a doctor before you begin taking any medicine, even if it is an over-the-counter like Aspirin.
