Hi Noahjc,

The statement you submitted didn't include a question so I hope I am addressing your concerns in this answer.  Here are 2 links; the first discusses various issues related to strokes including diagnosis, symptoms, treatment, etc. The second link includes information that discusses the different treatment options for high blood pressure, which may be important in your grandfather's situation.  It is possible that he needs a different type of blood pressure medication or maybe a larger dose.

High blood pressure prevention and treatment

I encourage your grandfather to visit his cardiologist or primary care physician to have his medications and the general health of his heart and blood pressure reevaluated.

Best of luck,
