Q: get these attacks where i feel shortness of breath, tightness in the chest, palputions, burning

i am 23 year old male that was in great shape, ran a few miles a day until one day three years ago, i got this feeling of dizzyness, shortness of breath then my heart started pounding and this lasted for ten minutes, then after that i felt funny for the next couple of days, since that day for the past three years i get chestpains all the time, heart palputations, feeling like i want to throw up, tingiling and burning feelins, the symtoms come ago all the time, then ever once in a while i have what i call a big attack, i feel it coming i feel like my heart starts fluttering i get a sensation in my heart like the flow in restricted, my heart slows way down and then it picks up fast and my heart starts punding and beating irregular and i get burning sensations and i feel like i want to throw up and i get shortness of breath my left side and my left arm get tightness and hurts, this last anywhere from 5 minutes like 15 then the feelins go down a lil bit and my hearts slows down some but i still feel like shortness of breath and funny sesations in my heart and this last for hours afterswards and i always feel like crap for the next couple of days after the  big attacks,  i went to the doctors a bunch of times and they said it was all nothing i am fine but know the last 4 months my heart beats faster than it should when i am not doing nothing i am fatigued all the time and i get funny felling quit often and i have big attacks more often then i did before i just went to another cardiologist and he thinks i have ist and put me on metoprol but it didnt help i still have all the symptoms and still get the big attacks sometimes, there hasnt been one day in the last for months that i feel completley normal do u have asy suggestions on what it might be now they are sending me to a specialist but that will take a couple of weeks and i am very scared thank you

Hi d_alvy,

 

I am sorry to hear about all that you have been through in the past 3 years.  It sounds like your physicians are taking your symptoms seriously since they are now sending you to a specialist.  With persistence, hopefully your physicians will find a reason for your suffering. I really have no advice or suggestions for you, but I do encourage you to continue with your persistence with this, since it is obvious something is not right.

In the meantime, if anyhting gets worse or different, I suggest going to the emergency room since you are concerned about the long wait until you can see the specialist.
