Q: Can damaged endothelium cells in arteries of the heart be replaced naturally?

I have read on the internet that the endothelium cells are the ones which keep the arteries smooth & allow for the free flow of blood & that they 'tone' the heart(i don't know what that means).But once they get damaged,fat deposition on the walls of the arteries can begin.I am asking beacause am going through severe stress & that stress can damage those cells.
