Why is indegestion a sympton of a heart attack?

My father recently died after a month with indegestion. The doctors said that he probably had a prior heart attack.

I am very sorry to read that your father died. Typically indigestion is not a symptom of heart failure, however complications can form after a heart attack which may be mistaken for indigestion. Some warning signs of an impending heart attack are chest pains or tightness which is also sometimes associated with forms of indigestion.
