Benito,

First of all, congratulations on taking care of yourself since this is obviously the best way to prevent another heart attack.

In terms of determining the chances of having another heart attack, it is a difficult question to answer because it depends on a multitude of factors. Some of these factors include why the heart attack occurred, which vessels were invovled, and what method of management was used. For instance, if someone has a stent placed in a coronary artery to open it up for more blood flow, it is very important to take medicine that lowers the platelets (substances in your blood that aid in clotting) so that the stent does not become occluded. If these medicines are not taken, the risk of having another heart attack can increase.

Exercising, not smoking, and working with your doctor's plan are the best things you can do to prevent another heart attack.
