Q: Breath taking chest pain

For the past 1.5 months, have had fairly severe chest pain/pressure and breathlessness with minimal activity.  Nuclear heart test showed nothing from what I was told.  Went to infectious disease doctor who said there is nothing he saw.

Now on prednisone, leaviquin, two inhalers, megadose Vitamin D, and Bystolic.  All that for nothing.  Am extremely uncomfortable and it has not eased up in the least.  My breathlessness is definitely worse and pain is radiating up right side of neck.  Any suggestions or advice?

Hi Musette,

I would definitely see a physician again.  It is apparent that there is some issue going on.

Symptoms of a heart attack

Since you are having new symptoms now, I suggest you go to the ER to get this checked out.  If it's not a heart attack, you will at least have some insight to what is or is not causing the pain and breathlessness.

Best of luck,

Thanks for responding. I swear I have found out more online than I have in a month of doctor appointments.

I did end up in the ER.  Stupidly I tried to drive to the pharmacy and ended up not being able to get my breath. I ended up at the ER for hours.  I laid on a table with my head elevated and I got my breath back over time, however the chest pain is and was still there. At first they said they were probably going to admit me, but later said they would release me in about four hours.  My belief is they called a cardio and he didn't want to come in on Christmas holiday.  They said make sure and call first thing Monday to the adjoined heart clinic.  I am sitting again in the recliner, sleeping in the recliner and have pain in my chest that with talking or walking leaves me breathless. I am so frustrated.

p.s. I don't have anxiety, I am very laid back.  I didn't do anything that explains the onset.
