Hi Shikha,

Some of the disease associated:

Obesity

Cardiovascular disease risk, diabetes, osteoarthritis, cancer, sleep apnea, abdominal hernias, varicose veins, gout, gall bladder disease, respiratory problems, and liver malfunction.

High Blood Pressure

Stroke, heart disease, mental problems/dementia, cancer, kidney disease, vision problems, bone loss, and sexual dysfunction. (http://www.healthcentral.com/high-blood-pressure/treatment-000014_5-145.html).

Smoking

Cancer, heart disease, emphysema, COPD, and other lung diseases.

As far as age, it varies between individuals.  The more risk factors you have, the greater your risk and likelihood of dealing with the disease/condition at a younger age.  For example, heart attacks are more common for individuals in their 60's versus 20's, but people still have heart attacks in their 20's.

The sooner your husband can remove a risk factor, his risk of developing a disease decreases.  Such as no longer smoking with significantly reduce his risk of heart disease, even though he is still obese and has high blood pressure.

All the best,
