Are my chest pains possible signs of heart attack or stroke?

I have been experiencing left chest pain which penetrates to the left arm with shortness of breath, especially with exertion, such as 1.5 mile walks.  This usually happens about half way throught it.  It usually lasts about 1/2 hour or sometimes even longer, but does slow down.  I also experienced numbness and tingling in the left arm.  This has been happening about 3 to 4 wks.  I have hypertension and am on meds for that (lysiniprol).

Another symptom that just recently started is feeling of extreme tingling from both arms that travels up the shoulders and to the neck area, causing severe neck pain and shortness of breath.  I swore I was going to have a stroke as it was traveling.  I was very relaxed on vacation at the time, so it was not any type of anxiety.

I was just released from the hospital, where they ran tests every 8 hrs for cardiac enzymes, EKG, and an MRI of the neck.  All was normal.  I am scheduled next week for a stress test (nuclear).  I'm not feeling well this morning with some tingling in the arms (feel shakey also) and pain in shoulders and neck.

The doctors suggested they are not related, and I should have a neurological work-up.  I also have petty siezures.

Any ideas?  These symptoms are scarey.

Thanks, Vicki
