My father has been told his heart muscle is dying, what is the name of this disease?

My father in law had a triple by pass about 8 years ago after a heart attack and even though the doctors believed too much heart muscle had died he actually made a good recovery. He has now been told that his heart muscle is dying, which he won't talk about so we need to know what this means

Hello,Imnot an expert but i was told years ago that i had Cardio myapathy,which is a condition that causes heart failure,as far as I know the Heart Muscleweakens and dosent fully pump out all the blood it is supposed to.Thre are meds for this condition,but im not sure of extent of damage or life time,it would depend i believe on how muchdamage is already done and how severe it already is.Jim
