Topics:Angina

My mother suffers from Prince Metal angina and also developed eschemic heart disease after not being correctly diagnosed for 9 years. She is now on the correct medication and has the PM angina under control. I have been to a cardiologist with my problem and he says PM is a myth. My heart looks healthy on a sonar and a stess ecg shows nothing. The problems with a calcifying neck and a hiatus hernia were ruled to be so mild, that the doctor said it could not be the reason for my pain. He suggested that i go and see a phyciatrist. I know the pain I experience is not in my head, but I do not know what could be the cause for my pain. Every time it happens i fear that this might be the last time, because it seems to be getting worse as time goes by. I am 50 yars old and am in menopause. I am also about 20 kg overweight and have slightly raised cholesterol.

Hi Alna,

Here is a post you may want to review - What are the Symptoms of Heart Attack in Women?

If you do not feel your physician is addressing your concerns there is nothing wrong with seeking a second opinion.

All the best,
