In addition, try to replace saturated and trans fats in your diet with heart healthy unsaturated fats (ex. olive oil, canola oil, nuts, avocado, etc.), boost your omega-3 fat intake (ex. oily fish), work on eating lots of fiber (oats, barley, fruit, vegetables, beans, nuts, psyllium husk, flaxseed, etc.) and plant-sterol rich foods (ex. nuts, beans, avocado, olive oil, etc.).
