I am taking Lisinopril 2.5mg once a day, can I take Glucosamine for my joints?

Hello Lin,

 

Generally speakng glucosamine is a safe suppliment.  There are very few drugs that glucosamine interacts with.

 

The only concerns, and the are mild concerns, are that 1) if you have diabetes, glucosamine may worsten your blood sugar control somewhat and 2) if you are on a blood thinner, glucosamine may thin your blood even more.

 

As always, be sure to mention to your physician all medications, including suppliments, herbs, and vitamins that you are taking!
