My husband had bypass surgery, experiencing a burning sensation in chest and arm, should he go to ER

Daughn

My husband had quadruple bypass surgery in February. He is a-typical - doesn't drink or smoke, is athletic, thin and he's the first in the family with heart disease. Now, it's September and he's having a burning sensation in his chest (says like after the surgery healing kind of pain). But he says that sometimes the pain goes down his arm. Should I bring him to ER tonight or can it wait 'til the morning?

Hi Daughn,

I hope you have contacted his physician since posting this question.  I recommend he be evaluated by his physician as soon as possible.

All the best,

Yes, thank you so much for your response, he called and they told him to go to ER if it continued.  Also, have an appointment Monday morning.  Again, thank you.
