Thursday, March 12, 2009 Sandy asks

Q: For the last 3 days I've had pressure on the left side of my chest along with pain down my left arm.

I went to ER all tests were negative. The ER doctor was saying heartburn before tests were done. Because I was only complaining of the pressure in my chest and arm. Plus because I waited so long and went to work that day. They said my risk is low because my parents are heathly-I'm an only child. I'm 48 and I'm at least 50lbs overweight. I want for them to right but I'm not convinced. The pain doesn't feel like heartburn to me. What do you think?

Hi Sandy,

There's nothing wrong with seeking a second opinion. Sometimes it's best to listen to your gut instinct. You may be interested in these two posts related to heart attack symptoms specific to women.
