I just read on Everyday Health and the American Heart Assoc. that Arrhythmias that they once thought were ok is now a real problem in heart disease. I copied the articles and I am taking them to my doctor. He keeps telling me I am fine with it and not to worry. I have already had one stroke from a blood clotand I surely do not want sudden death. How do I pesent this to him so he doesn't feel I am putting down his knowledge? He takes offense very easy.

Hi Bruce,

Since you say your MD is easy to offend, I would approach it from the angle of asking for his input on what you've learned.  Tell him you're worried about your risk of having another stroke, so you've been doing some research and want to share what you've learned to get his input, so you can be sure you're doing everything you can to prevent future complications.

If communication with your physician is an issue, it's in your best interest to consider switching physicians.

All the best,

Hi Lisa,

I did see my cardiologist yesterady and he done exactly what I thought he would do. He brushed all of my symptoms off and told me to get a life. I believe he was offended by my Primary Doctor having me wear the Halter Monitor, and that someone else ordered the Echo. He did not address any of the symptoms I had been having. He told me that the pacemaker did not allow my heart rate drop below 60 and that it was working fine.

I did see the doctor I am switching to, and told him I would be calling him very soon. I have seen him before and he also did one of my heart caths.

Thank you for your time and answer.

Bruce
