Lately I've felt like I wasn't taking deep breath but sorta like short shallow ones. And for about a week now when I breath it burns my chest a little - even more if I take a deep breath. I'm not coughing or anything - could this be serious?

Hi clever_name,

I encourage you to see a physician about the issue.  It could be any number of issues related to your heart, your lungs, you ribs, or even your esophagus.  It should be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible.

Best of luck,

Monica M. Skidmore, MS, RD
