Can lasix injection cause stroke

My brother had a 4 way bypass with major complications regarding staph infection in his chest cavity.  Approx. 4 months after healing and recouperating enough to drive on his own and general activity, he had fluid accumulation, a large dose by injection of a lasix, he became disoriented, then unconscious and died 2 days later by a ventricular hemorrhage (massive stroke).  I merely have questions regarding the dosage of lasix.  I know that lasix is used to treat fluid accumulation normally, but can it be, also, damaging?

Thank you for your answer, this is not in any way to point a finger of blame, as that does no good.

Hi Bonnie,

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss--I hope your pain will heal in time.

I could not find anything directly related to your question involving Lasix, but I did find a drug interaction page for this drug, which may help in your research on the drug. I hope this helps! Smile
