hi shanann funny enough this seems to be a common problem with a lot of people i myself started getting this complaint shortly after a lot of stress. i was very concerned like yourself so i seeked medical advice ,i was told by my GP that it was anxiety and just like a lot of people it was difficult to accept the diagnosis however, it's been two years now and i still get these times where my heart jumps and skips a beat and i am now convinced that the GP is right. when i get these attacks i just tell myself not to panic and everything is going to be ok and you'll find that they go away. when you visit your doctor they will ask you questions and they are looking for specific answers to weither your condition is serious and although they sometimes are wrong you can bet that they will be right about your symtoms and condition. take care and don't panic
