My father went to the doctor recently and had an x-ray done. The x-ray revealed that he has mild enlarging of the heart, and a little scarring in the right base of his lung, I am really worried about him I need to know what can be done to not make matters worse and if something can be done to make him better? I was thinking to take him to walk where he is not out of breaths alot.

Hello supreetk87,

A mildly enlarged heart on chest x-ray can mean many, many things.

In fact, it is impossible to say what could be the cause of this finding without knowing more of your father's medical history.  Long-standing high blood pressure is a common cause of an enlarged heart.

Honestly, you father should evaluated by a physician who can examine him to determine the severity and meaning of this test.

To your health,

Neil MD
