Q: Repair Heart Muscle?

My father in law has only 10% of his heart working and is in congestive heart failure. His doctors have told us that his heart is to weak to pump the excess fluid off. Is there anything we can do to repair his heart. My husband and I are desperate to find an answer.

Is it possible that your father-in-law could have a pacemaker implanted ? Or is  he too sick to withstand the surgery? Is he on diuretics? tHERE IS ALSO AN OPTION  a VAD, which is ventricular assist device . You really should sit down with his Drs. and ask them what options would be available to him and if they are not helpful maybe seek a 2nd. opinion. It sounds as if time is of the essence in this situation. Good luck to all of you.
