I am having sharp pain as if stabbed in my upper right shoulder. It's very hard to take a deep breath because of the pain. My mouth is tingling and when I do breathe deeply, I get light headed. What should I do?
If you have not already done so, I encourage you to go to the emergency room. What you're describing can be a symptom of a heart attack or stroke. Any time you have pain like that - particularly if it interferes with your ability to breathe or makes you feel lightheaded - you need to seek medical care immediately. Not all heart attacks are the dramatic, chest-clutching-and-collapse we see on television. They can come on more quietly (especially in women) and yet do the same around of damage.
