Q: Can Inderal make blood pressure go up even if it wasn't high before? My 18 year

old daughter has been taking it to prevent migraines.  She missed a dose and her blood pressure was 150/94.  It has never been high before.  She doesn't get any relief from migraines/headaches and still has them every day.  I'm not sure they are really migraines.  Any information would be appreciated.

Hi Raven.99,

In some cases, discontinuing inderal can result in elevated blood pressure.  This may be what happened due to her missed dose.  However, I recommend discussing with her physician.  If the medication is not relieving her migraines it may be best to try a new treatment approach.

All the best,
